FLASK

FLASK

Today, Ghost Ship Publishing and developer Chop Chop Games are thrilled to unveil FLASK, a roguelike auto-battler where paying your mortgage has never been more visceral. The next game in the ambitious indie roster from the publishers behind Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, FLASK will challenge players to navigate the aftermath of a goblin-human war, harvesting goblin blood to pay their bills.

In FLASK, players will traverse a dark medieval landscape as an indebted alchemist in a roving (and costly) tower, collecting flasks to control and enhance homunculus warriors in automated battles. Each run presents random encounters with meaningful consequences that impact both immediate survival and long-term debt management.

Players will face the constant tension of balancing combat effectiveness with mortgage obligations, where every victory brings both goblin blood currency and new strategic decisions that shape their alchemical empire.

Key Features:
  • Grim Fantasy World Exploration: Navigate civilisation's debris across ruined battlefields filled with wealth, danger, and surprising characters.

  • Blood Economy Revolution: Pay your mobile tower mortgage with goblin blood, harvesting this valuable new currency as you traverse the world.

  • Homunculus Menagerie: Command a variety of meat puppets, each with unique combat approaches in automated battles.

  • Alchemical Warfare: Collect mysterious flasks that control your homunculi soldiers, each offering different abilities. Experiment with a variety of powerful combinations to ensure success in every fight.

  • Spectral Encounters: Confront the homunculi ghosts of other players in asynchronous PvP every third battle, and become a legend - or loser - amongst your alchemist peers.

  • The Dark Arts: Delve into a hand-drawn world, based on the illustrations of John Kenn Mortensen, where every character, object, and material has been carefully designed to fit this unique visual style.
"We wanted to create something for strategy fans with an immense amount of depth in the gameplay, where you can take the time to carefully plan your moves while exploring this dark and gruesome new world," said Dario Rahimic, co-founder of Chop Chop Games. "FLASK perfectly mixes my background in competitive card games with my love for dark fantasy, in a way I never knew I craved before now.

When you're literally paying your mortgage with the blood of your enemies, every victory becomes twisted, but it's all necessary to increase your profits! This is our first major reveal, and we're so excited to introduce the world to FLASK.

"Let the bloodharvest begin!"

FLASK's haunting visual identity springs from the imagination of artist John Kenn Mortensen, renowned for his nightmarish creatures and atmospheric fantasy horror illustrations. Serving as both art and narrative lead, Mortensen has crafted a world where beauty and terror dance together in unsettling harmony.

"FLASK is my first ever experience working on a video game, and it offers such a unique canvas for collaboration and creativity - not to mention a new home for my nightmarish designs," said John Kenn Mortensen, Art and Narrative Lead. "Joining Chop Chop and working with Ghost Ship has been an incredible experience.

There are no limitations here, no editorial constraints - just pure, unfiltered dark fantasy brought to interactive life. We can't wait to show the world more of FLASK soon."

"FLASK represents the kind of beautifully disturbing innovation we love to see at Ghost Ship Publishing," said Søren Lundgaard, CEO of Ghost Ship Publishing. "We're committed to supporting teams that push boundaries, and Chop Chop Games has birthed something that feels both familiar to strategy veterans, and utterly fresh in its execution.

Part of our mission at Ghost Ship is helping the Danish game development space grow by backing developers who aren't afraid to challenge conventions, and FLASK is an amazing example of the talent in our industry."

FLASK is available to wishlist on Steam right now!
