Christopher Fredriksson

Our test system is based on these components.

  • Intel Core2Duo E6600 @ 2.4GHz 4MB FSB1066
  • Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 iP965
  • XFX GeForce 8800GTX XXX 630MHz GPU 768MB DDR3
  • 2 GB Corsair XMS2-6400 Twin2X2048
  • 3x Western Digital WD2500JS 250GB 7200rpm 8MB SATA2
  • Windows Vista Ultimate

The key component in our test rig today is the XFX GeForce 8800GTX graphics card, which with stock cooling can perform very well and not becoming too hot.

If you want, you can visit our [guidelines] to see how we test our products.

The following table shows the temperature results on our graphics card. Ambient temperature while testing was 21 degrees Celsius.

Note: We only used one thermal paste in this test and it was the Tuniq TX-2.

As you can see by the temperature table the ZeroTherm HC92 CU 8800 is by far superior to the nVidia stock cooling. This is mostly because third party companies have more time developing the cooling products than nVidia have as they are focusing on creating the gaming hardware.

Thanks to APACK who gives us a product like the ZeroTherm HC92 CU 8800 we can get better performing cooling products that increase the lifetime of our components.

On next page we’ll take a look at the conclusion and score table.
