Belkin SATA2 w/ eSATA

Christopher Fredriksson

We have today tested the F5U197 from Belkin, a product that gives us two SATA ports through an add-on card for the PCI Express slot. Compared to its brother this product has one eSATA and one SATA connector which make it possible to connect newer external enclosures with the eSATA 3.0Gbps connection.

The F5U197 features two RAID (0/1) modes that is controlled by a DOS-life interface that is available right after the BIOS has loaded all its modules.

It performs well and should be the perfect add-on card for any home or office user that needs another two SATA ports to be used with one internal disk and one external enclosure.

I would like to thank Fredrik over at Belkin for sending me the sample.
